Week 10…Found a trick, Feelin’ good!

Yesterday I went into the jewelry store in town to drop off my ring to be fixed (work broke it, not swollen sausage fingers – which I don’t have, by the by).  I have a couple of friends that work there and was glad that my friend Mindy was at the counter; she has had two really rough pregnancies where she was sick the whole time.  I am realizing now how long of an introduction this is.  Anyway, I told her I was feeling sick all the time.  We gathered that the time we feel like throwing up the most is when our stomachs were empty.  I have a tip now for all you pregnant ladies, but I am saving that for my weekly words of wisdom below.  Now I just tricked you all into reading the blog!  🙂

How Far Along? 10 weeks today.  Or, by my new OB that didn’t give an ultrasound, 11 weeks tomorrow.

Total weight gain
: Since I got pregnant, I have lost 6 pounds.

Cravings: Cold and fresh things – fruits, salads, SALSA.  Mmmm….

Maternity clothes? None yet, but my stomach is starting to show, I think.  Well, it must be because I am losing weight, yet my stomach is getting bigger. 🙂

Sleep: I have been sleeping  A LOT.  Last night I slept for 12 hours!  The only thing I don’t like is I’ve been waking up with my neck hurting a lot.  Of course, that’s not necessarily a pregnancy thing.

Best moment this week: I was pushing on my abdomen to “investigate,” and I felt a little round-ish circle-ish thing.  I think that that may be the uterus?  🙂

Movement: Other than that mentioned above, no.  And that was by force, I don’t think that uterus was moving willingly.

Labor Signs: Nope, nope, nope.

Belly Button in or out? Still definitely in.

What I miss: Wearing regular pants.  Because I feel sick all the time, I can’t handle the feel of a waistline on my stomach.

What I am looking forward to: My next ultrasound when we get to hear the baby’s heartbeat – Feb. 4! :)

Weekly Wisdom:  Because you feel most sick when your stomach is empty, eat little things at regular intervals throughout the day.  Don’t eat bug meals because then you just feel full and aren’t really able to eat again when you’re hungry thus insuring the want to throw up feeling.  It really works!  That and a fruit Popsicle.

Milestones:  Huh.  I think maybe a little to early to have it be anything other than my first ultrasound.

Enclosed is the weekly picture.

Week 9 with the flu…Not a good time…

Well, this blog is just going to be the survey and a picture because I’m pretty sure that I have the flu, or am at least at the tail end of it.  It started last Tuesday night, and Wednesday I had to call off of work.  So, for the past three days my couch, the toilet and I have become wonderful friends.  Although, I don’t know how I feel about the toilet just yet……

How Far Along? 9 weeks today.  Or, by my new OB that didn’t give an ultrasound, 10 weeks tomorrow.

Total weight gain
: I haven’t weighed myself since last Saturday, and I was the same as my last post.  None gained or lost.

Cravings: Toast.  Mostly because it doesn’t really have a scent, and my mother-in-laws homemade cranberry banana jam is amazing!

Maternity clothes? None yet, but my stomach is starting to show, I think.  This could be just because of the flu and the pressure the sickness is putting on my stomach, but I have to wear my gaucho pants that basically don’t have a waistline.  It feels like I’m not wearing anything at all, and that is sooo nice!

Sleep: The past couple of days I have slept on the couch, and that can be a little uncomfortable, but I think I’m getting more sleep.  I don’t think I’m getting up in the middle of the night as much, just waking up to switch sides.

Best moment this week: Finding a really great website that has videos of a few different types of birth and the stage of the baby.  It’s a tad more real, and I must say, I am now a little freaked out about the birth.  Not scared, just freaked out.  I feel like I should buy those women a dinner after seeing so much of them.

Movement: From stomach to throat to mouth to toilet, yes.  I have finally thrown up.  Man, is that disgusting.

Labor Signs: Nope, nope, nope.  There should be sections of this survey for the different trimesters.

Belly Button in or out? Still definitely in.

What I miss: Now, I miss cooking.  Found out a few days ago that I can no longer tolerate the scent of ANYTHING cooking.  That makes this a little more difficult.

What I am looking forward to: My next ultrasound when we get to hear the baby’s heartbeat – Feb. 4! 🙂

Weekly Wisdom:  If you have to throw up, just do it.  Don’t try to stop it or hold it back because then you’ll just feel worse.

Milestones:  Huh.  I think maybe a little to early to have it be anything other than my first ultrasound.

8 weeks – 2 months already! :)

How Far Along? 8 weeks today….Or, by my new OB that didn’t give an ultrasound, 9 weeks tomorrow.

Total weight gain
: 4 pounds lost since Christmas Eve…WOO…Maybe that’s because I can’t stomach to eat anything?

Cravings: I really want vegetables and fruit lately.  But today I just wanted a piece of toast and yogurt.  That hit the spot perfectly.  Mostly, just clean fresh things that don’t make me want to vomit.

Maternity clothes? None yet, but my stomach is bloating, so I have to wear my bigger shirts and pants.  Soon, I suspect.

Sleep: More than I did even last week.  I have to toss and turn and switch sides to find any hope of sleep, and I am getting up lots to use…..The facilities, but strangely, I feel like I’m sleeping more.

Best moment this week: Finding the only OB in my area that my insurance covers.  Meaning, I have a regular doctor! 🙂

Movement: Does the gurgling of my stomach count??

Labor Signs: Ha!  No, but I did have a dream the other night that I gave birth now and our baby didn’t cry or eat or fill her diaper so we worried that she might not be okay, but she was breathing normally and slept constantly.  Because I didn’t expect to give birth for another 5 months, we didn’t have any diapers or food or clothes or anything.  While I was at the store picking up those items and working at said store, my husband called me and said that he had to go into work, so I would have to bring the baby to class with me.  While I fretted about bringing the baby to class, I ended up on a beach where I ran into my cousins, Erin and Beth.  There was a man following us and we got rid of him by throwing a stick far out into the water from the dock we appeared on.  After that, Beth and I headed back to our apartment (Beth lived above Dave and I) as I told her about bringing my baby to class with me.  Beth informed me that I couldn’t do that and reminded me that she babysits.  I told her that I could scrounge up some money for her to which she replied, “Or you could just bring me a sandwich.”  I went inside to find my husband laying on the floor watching TV, feet propped up on an ottoman and his head resting on our baby like a pillow, when he was supposed to be heading to work, mind you. And then I woke up.  Wonder what that meant…?

Belly Button in or out? Still definitely in.

What I miss: Still missing the non-vomitty feeling.

What I am looking forward to: My baby bump.

Weekly Wisdom:  Um…I don’t think I have any this week.

Milestones:  Huh.  I think maybe a little to early to have it be anything other than my first ultrasound.

I am enclosing a picture of my 8 week belly (I’m going to go with the doctor that gave me the ultrasound and based my due date on that).

Short and….Well, short…

So, it’s New Years day today, and I still feel like I’m going to vomit every second.  I love being pregnant and wouldn’t trade it for everything, but I do take back that statement when I said that I want to experience morning sickness. I don’t.  I don’t think I’d mind it so much if I could throw up to get rid of it or take something to get rid of it.  Dave said to me at midnight, “This is the year that our baby will be born.”  It was so sweet!  Anyway, nothing has really changed in the last few days, so I am doing my survey Monday after my doctor’s appointment.  I made some homemade, stuffed-crust, gluten-free pizza last night that was pretty good, but two pieces just about killed me (that was all I had all of yesterday except for a small package of fruit snacks).  And now my husband is nice enough to make potatoes, eggs and bacon for lunch for us.  Bless his heart, but the smell is killing me.  I don’t know how much longer I can sit here with that permeating the air!  But I bet it’ll taste good……I hope.  Until Monday.  Week 7 belly picture enclosed, as well as a picture of the size of our baby.

P.S. My sister-in-law, Mandy just called me two nights ago, and she is pregnant too!!!! 😀  We are SOO excited!!! She is 3 weeks to a month behind me!  🙂
